Founded in 2008, theFree Clinic of Powhatan (FCP) provides compassionate, high-quality healthcareto uninsured and underinsured adults in Powhatan, Chesterfield, Amelia, andCumberland counties. Committed to building a healthier community, one person ata time, FCP offers comprehensive medical, dental, behavioral health, and casemanagement services, ensuring patients receive whole-person care.

With innovativeprograms like "Eat Well, Be Well," which provides nutrition educationand wellness coaching, and expanded behavioral health services, FCP addressesboth immediate healthcare needs and long-term wellness. In 2024 alone, FCPserved nearly 500 patients through almost 3,000 visits — more than doubling itsservice capacity since relocating to a renovated space in 2021.

FCP’s impact is madepossible through partnerships with healthcare providers, local governments, anddedicated volunteers, including over $300,000 in donated clinical andadministrative resources. By providing accessible healthcare and tacklingsocial determinants of health, FCP serves as a vital safety net for theregion’s most vulnerable residents.
